PROJECT HAND SCULPTED DESIGNER WOODEN BOWLS

tivart’s favicon  This gallery contains sculpted wooden bowls, which are part of the project "Hand Sculpted Designer Wooden Bowls" by artist Tihomir Velichkov. The start of the project was given in the end of 2010. Its concept is creation of more vitality and refined beauty in the living environment and interior design by means of collectible artistic wooden bowls, designed and hand sculpted by artist. Each bowl is different from all others and possess unique presence and influence, which pass in the surrounding space. The basic endeavour in this project is concentrated in reaching clean lines and elegant sculptural forms that can come only from an artist´s hand shaping, so as to eloquently accentuate and enhance the impression of unique, natural character and charm of the wood in all its different varieties.

HOW TO CARE FOR WOODEN BOWLS

The Hand Sculpted Wooden Bowls are finished with three coats of natural highest quality oils OSMO. It is food-safe and eco-friendly. This fine, oil finish lets you see the unique, natural character of the wood. This finish also serve as the ideal original finish for your bowl and allows it to achieve a patina that only comes with repeated use of the wooden bowl over time. This patina makes your sculpted bowl even more beautiful each year for years to come.

  1. Gently wash the bowl inside and out, using a non-abrasive cloth or pad, warm water and mild dish soap. Avoid soaking your bowl and NEVER put it in the dishwasher! Rinse the wooden bowl completely with warm water.

  2. Dry the exterior of the bowl with a clean cloth or paper towel.

  3. To ensure any water absorbed by the bowl evaporates, allow it to completely air dry. The bowl will appear to fade or dry out. Do not place your bowl in direct sunlight for excessive amounts of time. Store the bowl in a dry, dark location at room temperature.

  4. Occasionally, every couple of months or anytime your wooden bowl looks or feels dry, give them a wipe with some walnut oil, or if you are concerned about nut allergies, lightly oil it with boiled linseed oil. Let the oil cure for 24 hours before reusing it. Do not use food-based oil, such as vegetable or olive oil, to condition your bowl as it will become rancid over time.
